The last stop on this tour is a walk along the Via Sacra (or Sacred Way), the main artery that linked the Colosseum to Capitoline Hill. It runs through the heart of the Roman Forum, passing the site of a wealth of important buildings and was used in the days of antiquity for a whole host of festivals and triumphal processions. Perhaps, most important of all is the site of the tomb of Julius Caesar in the Temple that bears his name.
