Lisbon Street Art Walking Tour

Our tour provides a very diverse set of street art and this includes: information about the Techniques that is used, some of the artist´s life and work and introduction to mural works sponsored by galleries. We also see paintings from Graffiti such as Tags or Posters and Stencils to Beautiful mural pieces, from international and National artists. In Bairro alto we introduce you the origins of Street art since the Vandalism in trains and walls, until the first Explosion of political murals and the legalization of street art in 2008 by the city council.

This was done in the same neighborhood with projects that Lisbon developed such as Gallery of urban art in Lisbon or the Project APAUrb which provides frameworks and places for artists to express themselves legally.

Stepping to the other side of Lisbon, in Mouraria and Graça we find a diversity of murals and projects to help the renovation of this old neighborhoods.

These projects have the main purpose of giving life and color to their abandoned buildings. Most of them have a social or political message, others to memorize important people from Portugal Literature, such as the Project of the Passeio Literário da Graça.

The tour finishes with a mural from our National Super star Vhills in partnership with Shperd Fairey, the artist who is known from the Obey stickers and the Obama Poster.
