Over deze activiteit
Meet your guide at 5pm at a predetermined location, just a 5-minute walk from the south end of the Old Imperial Palace. Your 1.5-hour sushi-making class takes place in a machiya, a traditional Kyoto-style wooden townhouse.

Here, your professional local instructor will teach you to make makizushi by rolling special rice and various ingredients onto a sheet of nori (dried seaweed). Maki means ‘rolling’ in Japanese, and there are many different types of fillings, such as sashimi (thinly sliced raw fish) or cucumber, used to create the tasty dish. Although a sushi roll may look difficult to assemble at first, you'll learn how to make the finger food in an easy, step-by-step process. Your English-speaking guide will be on hand to translate the instructions.

After your lesson, sit down with your fellow sushi lovers to enjoy your own nori-wrapped creations for dinner. Side dishes such as miso soup (made of soy bean paste) or sumashi (clear soup), as well as a side salad and seasonal fruit, will be served with your makizushi.

Your tour concludes here, and your guide will direct you back to your preferred location.
